Lemonade was reclaimed from the memories of a childhood filled with adventure. Mamma and Pops always insisted that I get outside and play—use up all my imagination. Pops was an avid fisherman, who worked hard for what he claimed, and he is in no way related to any of the negative character traits in this story accept for by name.

When I first sat down to write, I didn’t even know Trickle’s name or who she would become. OG was a figment of my ongoing adventure with my eleven year old female Cane Corso, and best friend Savanah. I had no idea of who OG was and how he would affect Rylans Journey until I was out fishing with my old girl one evening.

The journey was always a mystery to me—its purpose, its destination, hidden from me. I had discovered this story much in the same way that the reader will. Night after night, the ideas flowed in, I nearly went mad scribbling notes on 3x5 cards, taping them to my wall and computer screen, and then trying to put that all into an order that made sense. For well over a year, I’ve lived inside this story, reading it over and over, searching for just the right words, trying to uncover the heart of its message. As I journeyed along Rylan’s path, I found myself swept up in it—tears falling one moment, laughter bubbling up the next, not wanting for it to end… …

My wish is that it lands gently in your life, or someones that might need it, and that it opens up your path just a little but wider leaving your soul filled, feeling quenched...

Much Love
